Inventory Manager Only Can Change Costs

Only the Inventory Manager or the President has the authority to change cost, adjusted cost, or minimum on any piece of merchandise.

The Inventory Manager is also the source for cost adjustments when a watch or ring is split up, as in selling the bracelet or head only, or the wedding band alone.

  1. If you do not work in the inventory department, do not change prices in computer inventory EVER! Only an employee of the inventory department who is authorized by the Inventory Manager or the Manager themselves can do that.
  2. Get written OK on the invoice from the Sales Manager or Inventory Manager when any cost/minimum/adjusted cost is changed from what was originally on the tag or in the computer.
  3. Always put the original tag on the invoice, even if the item is being changed or split up. The original computer description has to be located and changed by Inventory and they need stock numbers to do that.
  4. Write a brief explanation of the reason for the change on the invoice (different bracelet, changed to Italian bracelet, etc.).
