Consignment Diamonds

If a diamond that is consigned is of a grade that we would certify (if it was our own) then it should be certified. We sell certified diamonds whenever we can.

If the diamond is not consigned at a price with sufficient profit the consignor should be explained that certified diamonds sell faster and for more and that the cost can be deducted from the price the consignor will be paid. This way there is no out of pocket expense for the consignor. It should also be explained that if the diamond is not sold the consignor will need to pay that amount when picking up the diamond.

Obviously the best scenario is to take the diamond in at a price that certification still allows a good profit and this should be attempted in all cases.
