On occasion, employees who are not full-time buyers will assist in making buys for the Wholebuy Department. Sometimes all the buyers are already helping other customers, are in different offices, or are out sick. We will pay a commission to the part-time buyer who gives their best effort and closes that buy.
In general, part-time buyers will earn a slightly higher commission on their buys to encourage and thank them for helping. We usually base commission on profit, not GI.
The commission schedule for part-time buyers is 4.25% of the profit.
This policy applies to salespeople, sales assistants, repair, estates, marketing, IT, and yes, even accountants! So when someone calls us out to the buy office, let’s make our best effort to close those buys!
We do not wish to encourage conflict regarding who will help what customer. If the part-time buyer is doing fine and closing a buy, a buyer should not sweep in at the last minute to try to get half the buy! It is awkward for the customer and unfair to the part-time buyer who has worked to close the deal.
And if it’s left up to you, the part-time buyer, to close the buy, don’t just phone it in – give it everything you have, and we all win!
