In order to always have catalogs, one must:
- ALWAYS be aware of how many you have.
- Be familiar with each company’s strategies of keeping them stocked. Some of them are sloppy about keeping in inventory themselves.
- Be VERY greedy when ordering. Ask for many more than you need or want. If they are stingy, write yourself a note to call them back in a month and ask for another order. If they say, “but we just sent you some” then you say, “we just did a mailing” or whatever.
- ALWAYS have more on hand than you think you need.
- The MOMENT you notice you are getting short, order more and make a note to check to see they came in.
- Insist that they (After all, it IS their job to have them) get you some when they are out. They can have some shipped from overseas, OR THEY CAN GET SOME FROM ANOTHER DEALER THAT HAS THEM. It is your reps’ job to have them available. GET THEM!
- ALWAYS have more than you think you will need.
- The MOMENT you notice you are running out, order more and be sure you get them.
