Whenever possible, watches are to be put in the case on displays provided by the watch company. The reason for this is that the watch companies’ displays are more upscale, and look better. Also, displays provided by the watch companies for which we are authorized dealers are not to be used to display any other brand except the one that provided the display. Bertolucci displays are not to be used for Hamiltons, etc. It is bad PR and generally upsets our watch reps to see other brands on the displays that they supplied, or to see their watches on an inferior display.
When a new watch is inventoried and put in the case, it is to be put on one of the manufacturer’s displays. If there are not enough, the Display I/C is to procure more from the watch company. When staff set up cases in the morning, the watches are to be put on the manufacturer’s displays. Therefore, the only reason a watch would be displayed in the case on a generic display is if there is not a manufacturer’s display available.
