Many people want to take time off after Christmas and we need to coordinate so that we are not left shorthanded.
We will be open 7 days a week for approximately the last two weeks before Christmas, and most of you will be scheduled to work 6 days a week. We generally cannot approve time off during those last two weeks except for medical appointments. We will close at 3:00pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and if you are not a Salesperson, Sales Assistant, or Receptionist, you may CSW to leave early on Christmas Eve if you need travel time.
Generally, we will be open the week after Christmas for regular hours. We may or may not be closed the day after Christmas, depending on which day of the week Christmas falls each year.
Estate Buyers may only schedule unpaid time off one buyer at a time to ensure that we are not shorthanded in the buy offices.
You may use PTO to get paid for your time off after Christmas, you may use a combination of unpaid and paid time off, or you can take all unpaid time off. You don’t have to take any time off at all if you don’t want to. It is a first-come, first-served system so you may not get your choice of days off if others are already booked.
All departments must be covered for all days that the store is open, so departments must work out who will be gone when. Once that is known, each employee will turn in individual CSWs for approval. Every CSW must indicate who else is scheduled to be off during that time.
