Sales, Do Not Answer Phones before 11:00AM

Salespeople should not be answering incoming calls on our backline phone number before 11:00am. You need to be writing letters, making phone calls, training or doing anything else sales related from 10:00am to 11:00am.

Most calls on our backline before 11:00am are employees calling in sick or letting HR know they will be late or other business not pertaining to sales. You should not be answering these calls because your morning time is a very pertinent start to your day. It’s when you have uninterrupted time to do letters, calls, catch up on thank you cards, training etc. You don’t want to be distracted by “so and so” is sick again or they have car trouble.

Obviously, if you are the only one here then you need to answer the phone. Otherwise if the phone is ringing and it has not been picked up simply ask an employee setting up to answer the phone.
