Leo Hamel Policy Letter

Repairs, Back Charges

All items not new, are to go through repairs before being sold.

Every time this is violated we have a come back that costs us money.

We don’t sell a watch from Michael or Dano or anyone else until repair checks it out.

If Nam checks out a watch and gives it an “ok”, then we are not charged for the repair if it comes back.

What happens otherwise is:

  1. The cost of the repair is not included and therefore the sale price does not necessarily reflect the right price.
  2. If the piece comes back the repair is charged to the Repair Dept. when they didn’t even see the piece.
  3. Most importantly the customer is now unhappy with their purchase and we all look incompetent.

From this point on, any pre-owned item sold which has not gone fully through Repairs, including qual, will be charged-back to the sales person who has violated this policy.

It is appreciated that you want to make the sale today. I need you to take a longer term look and see how the short term gain could affect us poorly in a much broader way. In the end it is not worth it.
