Phone Inquiries

When someone calls on the phone and asks for something like a “1 ct. G-VS2 Diamond” and we have a .99 ct. G-VS2, 1.05 H-VS2, 1.01 G-VSI, 1.00 G-SI1, in other words, everything BUT a 1 ct. G-VS2. DO NOT SAY, “No, we do not have it.” Tell them we have hundreds of diamonds in all sizes and prices and we have the exact stone they are looking for.

You CAN say this because the G-VS2 elsewhere IS an H-SI1 anyway (or even an I SI2). So, unless you absolutely HAVE to say, so it seems, “No, we do not have it.” (as in the case of a heart shaped 10 ct. D-VVSI), say “We have what you want”.

The key is to GET THEM IN THE STORE!!!

You CAN NOT sell a local customer on the phone. You MUST get them in.

This same idea goes for watches too. “Do you have a steel Date, just with a blue dial?” Even if one is not in the case, we CAN put it together, so tell them, “We have what you want.”

Practice saying this everyday, on your way to and from work until the phrase becomes natural to you.
