Personal Use of Postage Stamps and Shipping

Employees are not to use the company’s shipping department for personal shipping. We used to allow it when our company was much smaller, but it costs too much now that we have so many employees. Not only the use of our the shipping materials, but the cost to the Accounting Department to keep track of and charge you for shipping is often more than the shipping cost.

Employees may occasionally have personal packages delivered to the company’s address. However, all packages delivered here will be opened by shipping personnel to see if what they contain is company business, because sometimes vendors address packages to individuals. If the package is personal, it will be placed in the storage room next to the shipping room. If you are expecting a personal package, don’t email Shipping to ask about it. Also Shipping will not email you when it arrives. Use online tracking to keep track of when the package will arrive, and then look for it in the storage room during your break times. Be mindful that this is a perk and don’t have excessive amounts of personal packages sent here.

The company accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to any personal packages delivered to the store, or their contents, including mysterious disappearance. You ship it here at your own risk.

Employees may buy stamps for personal use, but only full sheets at a time, paid for by cash draws.

The owners are the exception to this policy and may send personal shipping through the department or have packages delivered to the store. Owners also do not pay for postage stamps.
