Leo Hamel Policy Letter

Penalty for Failure to Follow Policy

There have been situations where company policy was not followed and this lack of adherence set the company up for significant financial loss.

Instances of this will result in a report.

For a commissioned person a single report of this type may result in the person losing their status as a salesperson, a buyer, or a manager for one or more days. In this case, the person would be demoted to sales assistant or buyer’s assistant for the duration of the penalty.

I do not like having to write policy like this, but repeated actions such as not signing diamonds in and out, shipping by Fed-Ex when it is against policy, or unauthorized discounts or “giveaways” to customers, require a system to counterbalance willfully ignoring policy.

Cases of insubordination, disrespect or any willful violation of any policy may result in a temporary loss of status as a commissioned person at the company, or a pay reduction for non-commissioned persons.
