When I give an order of something that I want done, I do not want to give the order twice. I do not want to find that what I ordered was not done. We are trying to run a successful, productive business and if orders given by the President, any of the Executives, or your immediate supervisor are not followed immediately and as instructed, we will not accomplish our goals.

If we all follow orders when asked then Leo Hamel Fine Jewelers will be successful, profitable business and we will all win!

If a legitimate order is not followed it can be grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Phone Calls

When we have special events upcoming, we don’t always have the budget to advertise the event through a postcard or in the media; and even if we do, personal phone calls are the best way for us to ensure that the event will be well attended. I have ordered that everyone in the company with the exception of bench jewelers will make phone calls every morning regarding the event in the week preceding the event.

If you are in sales or a sales assistant you will continue to make phone calls beyond the number required. If you are in repair and are calling customers about their repairs, you will tell the customers you are calling about the event, all day.

The only thing that takes precedence over making your phone calls is when you are directly assisting a customer or assisting a salesperson or repair person who is helping a customer.

When you make your calls, be sure to log them into the customer’s file in Business Mind as that will be relied on as the official record of who did or did not make their calls. See the policy Central Files Contact Log for more information about how to update Business Mind.

If you do not make your phone calls on any day when it is ordered to be done, you will be subject to disciplinary measures. The second time that it is found that you did not make your calls, you will be terminated.
