Names of Suppliers

You should not say the name of any supplier loud enough for a customer to hear.

Why? Because then the “shopper” type of customer can try to get it direct or go to another jeweler to have it bought for less.

This also applies to catalogues.

Do your best to NEVER let them see the catalogue name. It is just too easy to go elsewhere and say “Can you get me a ——– Ring for less than X ?”

NEVER say Micha, Stuller, Dekker, or ANY suppliers name in front of the customers! This would include saying something like, “we’ll check for that piece at a watch show.”

The president of a major airline used to be a very good customer until he found out about the watch show. He hasn’t purchased anything since and attends the same shows as Micha (a dealer we do a lot of business with and he works out of this store).
