The Message Center is a place in each store that contains a box for each employee. Each box is tagged with the person’s name. The boxes are a way for other employees to route communication to you as well as a way for you to send communication to others. It’s used in place of walking up to someone’s desk and delivering your communication in person. This can be distracting and the Message Center should be used instead whenever possible.
Each person is responsible for delivering his or her own dispatches to the proper boxes and for picking up daily his own dispatches. Do not fail to pick up your dispatches at least twice a day (once in the morning, and once in the afternoon – make your own schedule). But do not let dispatches pile up in your box. It is not a storage bin. A continually full Message Center box tells others that you probably don’t check your box and their communication won’t get to you for days. This causes the person to bring the dispatch directly to you, interrupting you. This then defeats the whole purpose of the Message Center.
The Message Center boxes are arranged alphabetically with the exception of the owners, Leo, Robin, Maggie, and Lisa, whose boxes are on the far left side.
