Merchandise on Desks

Merchandise should never be left on desks unsupervised!

NEVER!

This includes all stock, repair jobs, trade-ins and anything else of value left by a customer or vendor.

If you are done showing a piece to a customer, immediately return it to the case or hand to an assistant to return to the case. Do not just put it on your desk and walk away.

From now on all salespeople will have one drawer in their desk that is designed for jewelry. If you are still working with jewelry pieces and get called to the counter, all jewelry or watches or diamonds must be placed in that drawer and the drawer closed.

At the end of the day all merchandise that is on your desk (there should NOT be any) or in your desk drawer should be returned to its proper place and locked in the safe for the night.

If anything is left on your desk at the end of the day, you will be written up and disciplinary action taken.
