Heads

It is always the responsibility of the Repair I/C to be sure that we always have heads* in stock for the diamonds in stock. This includes at least one head for each large diamond. If we get in an unusual or large diamond in inventory or on a long term memo, an appropriate head must be ordered or made or able to be made on very short notice.

Example

We get into stock a 3 ct. trillion**. We need to be able to set it Saturday afternoon if we sell it. If the head for this shape is made from another shaped head, then that head must be in stock.

The Inventory I/C should inform the repair area when new large or unusual shaped stones come in.

Repair should check the stone box regularly for odd sizes and shapes as a back up system.

SALESPEOPLE have responsibility as well and need to be sure heads are in stock for regular sizes and unusual or large sizes as needed.

*Head – The prongs that hold the stone onto a setting.

**Trillion – A brilliant-cut gemstone that is triangular in shape rather than round, with 44 facets.
