There are many rewards and responsibilities that go along with being an Executive of Leo Hamel Fine Jewelers. You are chosen for this position by virtue of your outstanding ability to manage one or more departments and the employees in those departments, getting the most production possible from the resources devoted, constantly making improvements to the processes, and making corrections as needed.
You are one of the select few that are chosen to really create the future of this company. As an Executive, your decisions and actions will have far-reaching effects on the company and everyone who works for us and you can have as big an effect as you are able to create.
As an Executive, you are privy to management-level information. Anything that is discussed in management meetings or with other Executives is not to be repeated to your coworkers under any circumstances. Even if we are discussing whether or not to terminate your best work buddy, you cannot discuss it with that buddy. We have to make difficult decisions as we try to steer this company and to prematurely discuss what may or may not be decided in the future with those outside the management team just causes upset or worse.
If it were ever to leak back to us that any Executive was telling tales out of school, that person would very likely be removed from their position. Being an Executive is a position of trust and we all have to live up to that trust.
As a member of the Executive team, you now represent management to the other employees of the company. You are welcome to give your opinions on any subject as we discuss it in the management meetings, but once a decision is made, even if you don’t agree with it, you must accept it and present a united front to the rest of the company. In other words, you would not discuss with others how you don’t agree with this or that particular policy or decision. To disagree publicly with a management decision once made will cause division and dissatisfaction among our employees, and is akin to treason against the group.
It’s a great responsibility to be an Executive and I know you are up to it!
