We are now regularly using email blasts as a marketing tool to promote sales and other events. These blasts generate responses ranging from someone going on to our web site to shop or chat, to emailed responses addressed to the salespeople.
The timing of the emails is largely determined by the event or sale dates but there are other considerations.
- Email blasts cannot go out on Friday or Saturday as this does not give the salespeople time to respond until after the weekend has passed, and the customer can be upset by the delayed response.
- Salespeople or their assistants must be poised to answer all customer emails the same day they are received.
- Blasts must be done according to parameters established by Bill Vezzoso so that we are not blacklisted by any email host and thereby prevented from sending future blasts.
- Convert text to HTML rather than make part of graphics image
- Convert image to HTML and CSS
- Blasts must be edited and proofed thoroughly before sending just like any other marketing piece.
- Blasts must not be sent with too much frequency or it can result in customers asking to be removed from the email list.
IT must have a 2-day lead time after blast is proofed to complete set up for mailing.
