Door Keys and Fobs

A “fob” is a little gray plastic electronic key that opens various doors in the building, including the door from the showroom, and the employee entrance to the buy side. Employees are issued fobs after having worked here for 2 weeks. Some locations do not have fobs.

You may also be issued metal keys to the jewelry cases, and/or various doors depending upon the department that you are assigned to and your job title and/or length of service. These keys and fobs are yours alone, they are assigned to you by number, you must sign for them and you are responsible for their safekeeping. Do not leave your keys lying around where they can be lost or stolen.

Do not swap keys with other employees or give them your key except for an authorized temporary assignment. Keys may only be issued by the Security Department (currently the CFO). Return all unneeded keys to the Security Department; do not keep extra keys in your desk drawer or handbag. If you leave employment, you will be expected to return all keys and fobs that you were issued, and your pay may be docked for missing keys or fobs.

Please take your door key/fob with you anytime that you leave the store or enter the showroom, and use it to let yourself in and out. It is distracting to everyone to have to buzz the door to let employees in and out. Especially when you first arrive in the morning, use your key/fob to let yourself in the store.
