Often times our employees must leave the building to go on errands that involve carrying valuable merchandise. For example, the repair department sends merchandise to various downtown repair facilities to be worked on, or picks it up when it’s done. Sometimes salespeople personally deliver merchandise to customers.
It’s important to keep our employees safe from anyone who might think to lie in wait and ambush them to take the merchandise. Therefore, we don’t ever mention in front of customers or anyone else who doesn’t work here that any of our employees may be leaving the store carrying valuable merchandise. So we wouldn’t say, “James is going downtown in about an hour.” We just don’t mention it.
