Display Items and Merchandise in Remote Offices

Any sample merchandise on display in remote buy offices must be removed from display cases each night. This is an important security procedure to help prevent break-ins. Visible items are a target for theft, even if they are not valuable.

Valuable items must be locked in the safe every night and set up every morning, just like in the showroom in Old Town. No buys should be left out overnight. If there is a buy that is too large to fit in the safe, then it MUST be put somewhere completely out of sight and hidden from the view from the windows and doors.

For costume display items only, it is acceptable to put the items away in a back room completely out of sight rather than in the safe if they don’t fit. Do not put them in the cabinets below the display cases! They must be taken away from the cases and into a back room, in case anyone is watching you close from outside. It must appear that they are being taken away to lock in a safe.
