Customers’ Email Addresses

We are now starting to use the email addresses that we’ve gathered from our customers in e-blasts for marketing purposes. The program that sends the e-blast looks in the Business Mind customer files email address fields to get the email addresses. If there is anything else in those fields, it messes up the program.

Sometimes customers don’t have email addresses or else they don’t want to give theirs to us. We need to make a note of that so we don’t keep asking them every time they come in, but not mess up the e-blast program.

We will enter one of the following into the customer’s email address field when appropriate, and those 2 addresses will be excluded from the e-blast. Then we will know if we have already asked this customer for his or her email address and why we don’t have one yet.

  • If the customer has no email address enter no@email.com in the email field.
  • If the customer does not want to give us his or her email address enter wont@give.com in the email field.

Of course the salesperson can periodically still ask, “Did you get an email address yet?” Or “Are you ready to get special offers and reminders by email yet?”
