Correct Spelling of Names

This may sound like a ridiculously obvious policy to have to write but it seems necessary due to the fact that I find mis-spelled words on the computer.

Mis-spelled names cause the following:

  1. Difficult or even impossible to find on the computer.
  2. Letters written to people with mis-spelled names put them out of communication with us to some degree. (Because it doesn’t seem like you know who they are.)
  3. Makes us look “stupid” to the other person.
  4. A person’s name is usually his “identity” and his identity should be correct.

I always ask people to spell their name. I don’t assume I can spell it, especially with ALL the foreign names and all the cutesy spellings people use like:

  • Larrie for Larry
  • Lori, Laurie, Lorrie
  • Rufus, Ruffus, or Rooofus, ect…

And last names are even worse. Thank You.
