Every item that is brought into our store for work is to be checked into our computer system and assigned a proper job slip.
Items are NEVER to be handed to the jewelers or refinisher without a job slip.
The jewelers and the refinisher all have stats that are based on the number of jobs they complete in one week. EVERY item that they work on they must record the job number and the amount of time it took them to complete the work. By keeping this record it is possible to track the production levels of these individuals. When you force them to do work with out a job slip you are forcing their states to be inaccurate.
There is no such thing as a “quick touch-up watch refinish”, there is no such thing as a “quick sizing or setting” there is no such thing as a “quick chain shortening” all these processes require a proper job slip.
No customer is ever going to walk away from a sale because you must take 2 minutes to properly enter a job into the computer.
During hectic times in the store an employee from the Repair Dept. will be more than willing to help out by writing up the job slip.
RUSH repairs will and are always done when requested they just require the proper job slip.
The entire repair department (jewelers & refinisher included) will refuse to do any work on items that are brought to them with out job slips.
