We change our store hours for the final couple of weeks before Christmas to allow customers the broadest possible time to shop here instead of somewhere else.
The exact dates will depend on which day Christmas falls that year. Generally, we aim to be open on Sunday and Monday for the two weekends before Christmas.
The Tuesday before that first weekend that we are open, the showroom starts staying open until 7:00pm. The hours are then as follows:
We close early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve at 3:00pm.
The Director of HR arranges a schedule for all Old Town employees to ensure complete coverage during this time. Hourly employees may be asked to come in later and stay later. Exempt employees work the full schedule except are allowed one day off during the first weekend that we are open (either Sunday or Monday). Exempt employees then work straight through the following weekend up until Christmas Eve.
The remote buy offices are generally open on the two Mondays before Christmas. Their daily hours remain the same.

The economy and past years’ performance can be taken into consideration when making the decision whether or not to be closed on the day after Christmas. We never close on the day after New Year’s Day if it’s a normal business day, only on New Year’s Day itself.
If we are closed on a normal business day after Christmas, it is a paid day for exempt employees and an unpaid or PTO day for non-exempt employees.
