Children in the Store

It is understood that it is helpful sometimes to have your children dropped off here. It does not have to be a problem if we handle it in a workable way.

We all have a problem and are at risk when we violate our security and insurance policies. Letting children in while we are opening or closing or letting them leave is not OK. If that happened and we were robbed, our insurance would have been invalid.

From now on if you would like to have your children dropped off you must follow these rules and ensure your children follow these rules:

  1. They must arrive before closing. The person who brings them may not stay after we close.
  2. If after 6:00 pm, they must wait outside with whoever brings them until we leave and you collect them outside.
  3. When they come in, they need to be escorted by you to a designated area such as the conference room (in Old Town) where they will be out of the normal flow of traffic.
  4. They should bring something to do in there as they need to stay in that designated area until we leave. They are not to run around the store, get on the phones, computers or anything else.
  5. You would find it difficult to meet anyone that as a child never stole anything.

Though we may still be in violation of the strict insurance policies, following the above will lessen the confusion and distractions that create a perfect time to be robbed.

Please explain beforehand to your children, and the person dropping them off, why this must be done so that we don’t have a scene the first time they are not allowed to come in as before.
