When Leo or the Sales Manager asks any of the back-up staff or admin staff to go out on to the sales floor to help customers who are waiting for a repair, or are just poking around waiting for their friend, what you should NOT say is, “Can I help you…?” or “Can I show you something?” The natural answer for most people will be, “No.” or “I am just looking.”
The BETTER thing to ask is, “What can I show you?” And start opening up the case that they were looking in. Just open it and look at them expectantly and they will find something to look at. Ask them again, “What were you looking at? What can I show you?” This is how sales are created from nothing.
When you do this, you are a hero because that is money that was NOT going to be spent.
