Buy Sources

We want to track why customers come in to sell to us, whether it’s their first or their 20th time. This will tell us which of our marketing campaigns or promotional activities are the most effective in creating new buys and repeat buys.

In order to track accurately, once we are filling out a buy slip, we ask what brought them in today. As you are filling out information in the Buy Portal, enter the reason that the customer came in.

  • Call/Letter/Email – If the buy was prompted by a call that you made or a letter or email that you sent to that customer.
  • Catalog – If the buy was prompted by the customer receiving our catalog.
  • Customer – Only if the customer only came back because they’d been to you before.
  • EDDM – If the buy was prompted by a promotion sent by Marketing to a purchased mailing list called Every Door Direct Mail. Currently there is no campaign running.
  • E-blast – If the buy was prompted by an eblast sent by Marketing.
  • Employee – If the customer was referred to you by another LHFJ employee.
  • Internet – If the buy was prompted by the customer finding us via an Internet search. Example: the customer searched “sell Rolex san diego.” See Marketing Surveys Required PL for more information on Internet source.
Ask the customer which search engine/browser he or she uses and mark accordingly:
    • Internet – Google
    • Internet – Bing
    • Internet – Yahoo
  • Money Mailer – If the buy was prompted by receiving a Money Mailer postcard. We are not currently advertising with Money Mailer.
  • Postcard – If the buy was prompted by a postcard. Marketing will update you when postcards are sent out to promote special offers for buying.
  • Radio – We are not currently advertising on the radio.
  • Referral – If the buy was prompted by a referral from another customer.
  • Retirement Home – If the buy resulted from a presentation that we did at a retirement home.
  • Saw Sign – If that buy was prompted because someone saw our sign.
  • Silver Star – If the buy was prompted by our advertisements in the Silver Star magazine.
  • TV – If the buy was prompted by our TV advertisements.
  • Union Tribune – If the buy was prompted by a newspaper ad.
  • Yellow Pages – We are not currently advertising in the yellow pages.
  • Yelp – If the buy was prompted by the customer looking us up on Yelp.

REPEAT CATEGORIES

All the same categories as above but use these if the customer has sold to us before.
