We get a substantial amount of customers who refer their friends and family to our buy office to sell their items. We want to thank and reward these customers who send us referrals with a check from our store that they can use however they want to. Send the check to the person who referred the customer, resulting in a buy with a minimum of $250 profit. The estate buyer is to get the name of the customer who referred them and their contact info if they have it. If they don’t have the contact info, look up the address on the estate portal.
Buyers will use this VIP Referral Reward Request form to request checks. Each office will print its own to use.
Here are the guidelines for the gift card amount:
- The buy must have at least $250 in profit.
- The award will be $25, or 5% of the profit rounded in $25 increments. So $25, $50, $75, $100, $125 and so on. Ex: $1000 profit buy would be a $50 gift card (1000 x .05 = 50).
- The maximum award will be $200.
Here is the procedure:
- A customer sells something to the buy office and says a friend referred them.
- The buyer asks the customer if they can have the name and contact info of the person who referred them to us. Tell the customer you want to send a thank you card to the person who referred them. If they don’t have the contact info, you can look up their name on the estate portal to get their address.
- Once you have the contact info, fill out a thank you card (see example below).
- Figure out your profit on the buy
- Fill out the VIP Referral Rewards Request form:
- Referred customer
- Referring customer for reward
- BDS on the buy
- Amount of referral reward
- Date of qualifying buy
- Buyer’s name and signature
- In the estate portal, in the field for “coupon code,” enter REFERRAL so we can track the gift cards.
- Put referral form in with the thank you card and send in the run to Accounting.
- Accounting will verify the buy referral, add the check for the appropriate amount, and mail it to the customer.
- Do this the same day you make the buy or at least by the following morning if you are in a busy office.
Sending out these checks for referrals is really important, so please ask EVERY referred buy customer the name of who referred them. Referrals have become one of the most important ways to get new customers, so we need to be thanking and rewarding our good customers, so they will keep sending us new business.
