When we have an ad running in the paper or in a magazine promoting specific items, the department needs to make a copy of the ad available, along with a list of what items are being advertised. The list should include the item, description, carat weight, cost in code, minimum in code, and “retail.”
This list must be available at the time the ad comes out, displayed in an area on a board that everyone can see easily, along with a copy of the ad and an indication of where the ad is running and when.
The reason this is important is that when customers call us about the ad, it doesn’t give a good impression of our professionalism if we don’t know what is in the ad and can’t readily give information about it! It is very frustrating to have to search the case for an advertised item while a customer is waiting either in the store or on the phone.
